Leonardo DRS' New Building Begins...at the Ground
Every building starts in the ground with a good, solid footing; and this new building is no different. Our last post showed some (for us very exciting) dirt being moved around the site for the building to sit on. However, there is quite a lot of stuff that has to be in place before the concrete for the building slab is poured, not just the dirt. Plumbing and electrical have been run through the ground, under the slab where it was needed, and a layer of waterproofing has been laid over the dirt where the slab will go.
Lori, who has been knee deep in coordinating the construction of this building, took several pictures during her last visit to the site. If you look at the pictures above, the waterproofing material makes it easy to see the building outline. With all of the in-slab reinforcement, plumbing, electrical and mechanical requirements in place, the contractor will be pouring the slab in the next few days. We can't wait to see more and will post an update when we do, so keep an eye out for our next update!
